Caixa Econômica Federal is preparing its official entry into the sports betting market, with launch scheduled for the end of November. The announcement was made by the president of the bank, Carlos Vieirain an interview with The Globe. According to him, the institution wants to be one of the main players in the sector, which has been growing rapidly in the country.
Vieira stated that Caixa’s expected revenue from betting is R$2 billion to R$2.5 billion next year, marking the public bank’s debut in a segment that generates billions and has been competing directly with traditional lotteries.
The president highlighted that the initiative is part of Caixa’s modernization and diversification strategy, which seeks new sources of revenue amid the decline in bets on conventional lotteries and the expansion of private bets. “It’s a new market, and Caixa is an entrant. We want to be an important player,” said Vieira.

Asked about the drop in the bank’s lottery revenue, amid the growth in bets, the president of Caixa said that the drop is the result of the reduction in large prizes accumulated in 2025. “There is a propensity for people to play more when the prize is accumulated and we did not have large prizes accumulated at the beginning of this year”, he said.
Caixa was authorized by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance to operate bets definitively, on July 30th, through Caixa Loterias SA With the license, Caixa will be able to operate through the BetCaixa, MegaBet and Xbet Caixa brands.
