MPF rules out investigating bets based on the CPI das Bets report

Created with the promise of investigating the sports betting market and its connections with digital influencers, the Bets CPI ended without results in the Senate. The final report presented by the senator Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS), which suggested the indictment of 16 people, including businesspeople and influencers, was rejected by the committee itselfin June this year.

With four votes against and three in favor, Soraya’s opinion was overturned, ending the CPI’s work without any formal forwarding. It was the first time in a decade that a parliamentary commission of inquiry in the Senate had its final report rejected.

Senator Soraya maintained that the investigations would not end there.

“That doesn’t stop me from taking the report to all the authorities. If that were the problem, they would be safeguarded. But they fell off the horse once again, because I will deliver the report and all the documentation that we collected to the competent authorities to continue the investigation”, said Soraya.

The senator fulfilled her promise and forwarded the material to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF). However, after analysis, the body concluded that the report did not present sufficient elements to open an investigation. The case was archived, ending the Bets CPI once and for all.
