THE Federal Government launched, this Wednesday (10), the Centralized Self-Exclusion Platform, which allows any citizen to block, at once, access to all sports betting sites authorized by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF).
The system, available at gov.br/autoexclusaoapostaswas developed by Serpro and is part of the prevention and harm reduction actions caused by problem gambling.
Previously, each bookmaker was already obliged to offer its own blocking mechanisms, but now the government brings the process together in one place. When registering, the user can define the self-exclusion period — between 1 and 12 months, or indefinitely. During the chosen period, it is not possible to reverse the decision. In the case of exclusion without a defined period, you have up to 30 days to withdraw. Access requires a silver or gold level Gov.br account.
The tool also offers information about psychological care in the SUS and guidance on mental health, recognizing self-exclusion as a proven strategy to reduce harm associated with betting.
“It will be a platform for multiple activities, and not just self-exclusion. Any citizen who wants information on the topic, who wants to take the Mental Health Self-Test, will be able to access the system and understand the specificities and risks of this sector, in addition to being able to be directed to links from the Ministry of Health”, said Secretary Regis Dudena.

The creation of the system was already foreseen in the SPA Regulatory Agenda 2025/2026 and is the result of the partnership between the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sports and the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, within the scope of the Interministerial Working Group on Mental Health and Prevention of Harm from Problem Gambling.
Serpro’s director of Economic and Financial Business, Ariadne Fonseca, highlighted that the platform “is a milestone in protecting bettors and consolidating a regulated market”, ensuring security and compliance with data protection rules.
The initiative was regulated by SPA/MF Ordinance No. 2,579 and Normative Instruction No. 31, which define the technical rules for integration with the Betting Management System (Sigap). Companies had 30 days to adapt to the self-exclusion system, a deadline that ends this Wednesday (10), and 90 days to implement mandatory prudential limits on time and amount bet.
