The Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj) hosted, at its headquarters, a meeting focused on debating the present and future of the gaming sector in the country. The event brought together representatives of the municipality, jurists and experts to discuss paths for the development and regulation of the activity in Brazil.
The president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançadoand the vice-president, Fabíola Esteves, received the writer and researcher Luiz Carlos Prestes Filho, author of the book “The Theory of Probabilities in the Game, in Science and in Public Policies”. The work analyzes the history of the prohibition of gambling in the country and defends the regulation of the sector as a tool for revenue, economic growth and strengthening public policies.
The meeting also included the participation of Paulo Horn, president of the OAB/RJ Special Committee on Sports Gaming, Lottery and Entertainment Law, and Alexander Barros, a lawyer specializing in gaming and betting. The presence of the guests expanded the dialogue with different legal, economic and institutional perspectives.

According to Loterj, the initiative reinforces the authority’s commitment to technical, responsible and transparent dialogue, contributing to the construction of a solid and safe regulatory environment for the gaming and betting sector in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
