THE Brazilian Championship The 2026 Series A began this Wednesday (28) with an important change in the sports sponsorship scenario: only 12 of the 20 elite clubs display bookmakers as master sponsors on their shirts, a reduction compared to the previous season.
According to a survey, the number represents a drop of around 33% compared to 2025, when 18 teams had contracts of this type, reflecting an adjustment movement in the market after a period of accelerated expansion of betting in Brazilian football.
Among the clubs that no longer have betting sponsors in the main area of the uniform are Vasco, Grêmio, Internacional, Coritiba, Bahia and Santos — all with ties terminated and no new agreements yet announced. In addition to these, Red Bull Bragantino and Mirassol also do not display betting marks on their shirts this season.

Despite the decline in the number of contracts, some partnerships remain of great financial importance. Flamengo maintains the largest sponsorship in the country with the betting house Betano, estimated at around R$268 million per year, in a contract until 2028. Other clubs such as Palmeiras, São Paulo, Corinthians and Botafogo also have relevant agreements with brands in the sector.
Sports marketing experts see the change not as the end of the presence of football betting, but as a process of market maturation, with more judicious investments after the period of rapid expansion.
