The Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot) participated, last Thursday (29), in an institutional meeting with federal government leaders in Chamber of Deputies. According to Febralot, the meeting aimed to discuss issues related to the lottery sector and strengthen dialogue between the category and representatives of the Legislative Branch.
The meeting was led by deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE), government leader in the Chamber, and was attended by the president of Febralot, Ricardo Amado Costa, as well as directors of state unions.
During the meeting, topics of interest to the lottery companiessuch as the valorization of the sector and the expansion of dialogue with the government.
During the meeting, deputy Guimarães highlighted the strategic importance of lotteries for the social and economic development of Brazil and signaled support for the agendas presented by the representatives of the category. Febralot highlighted the role of lotteries in providing essential services to the population, especially in municipalities with fewer bank branches.
According to the entity, the sector has more than 13 thousand units spread across 98% of municipalities, generating around 70 thousand direct jobs and offering essential services that go beyond betting, such as banking services and payment and withdrawal operations.
The Federation stated that it will continue to act in an integrated manner with representative entities and political leaders to expand the representation of lottery operators and defend the interests of the category in decision-making spaces.
