Brazil accounted for almost a third of global downloads of sports betting and casino apps in the second half of 2025, according to the report State of Mobile 2026released by the market intelligence company Sensor Tower. During the period, there were 34.3 million installations in the country, equivalent to 29.7% of the global total of 115.4 million downloads.
According to the study, the growth of the betting segment in Brazil was driven by the regulation of the online market, made official in 2025. “This expansion is becoming increasingly global, as regulatory frameworks evolve and drive adoption records in new markets, such as Brazil, which officially launched regulated online gambling in 2025,” says the report.
The survey shows that, among the most popular sports apps in the country, six of the ten most downloaded belong to the sports betting and casino subgenre, highlighting the strength of the sector after the start of regulation. In the global ranking, Betano’s application stood out among the leaders in downloads.

According to Sensor Tower, sports news, statistics and scores apps (“Sports News, Statistics and Live Scores”) maintained the global leadership in number of downloads in 2025, followed by sports broadcast apps (“Sports Streaming”). However, the report highlights that “Sportsbook & Casino emerged as the year’s main growth catalyst, with a 34% global increase in installs compared to 2024.”
The document also makes a comparison with the United States, where the digital betting market has entered a stabilization phase after years of strong expansion. “In the US, downloads of betting and casino apps fell by 6% in 2025, but the total time spent by users increased by 13%, reflecting greater loyalty from the existing base,” states the report.
The company highlighted that Brazil has come to occupy a prominent role in this scenario, combining recent regulation, a large mobile user base and high interest in sports. The expectation, according to industry analysts, is that the country will maintain its leading role in 2026, as new licensed operators begin operations with the “.bet.br” domain, as required by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance.
