The gross revenue of Macau casinos recorded growth of 24% in January 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). The total collected was MOP 22.63 billion (around R$14 billion), the highest result for a month of January since 2019.
Compared to December 2025, the increase was 8.4%, when revenue had totaled MOP 20.89 billion. The positive performance reinforces the recovery of the gaming sector in the region, driven by the resumption of tourism and the gradual improvement of the local economy.

Analysts point out that the advance was favored by an increase in the flow of visitors and the lower comparison base at the beginning of 2025. There is also an expectation that the numbers will continue to rise in the coming months, with the movement generated by the Chinese New Year, traditionally one of the strongest periods for Macau’s entertainment and hospitality industry.
The gaming sector represents one of the main sources of revenue for the Special Administrative Region, which has been recovering since the impact of restrictions imposed during the pandemic. With January’s result, the market reinforces optimism regarding GGR’s performance throughout 2026.
