According to the SCJ, the total contribution of the casino sector for 2025, which includes municipal authorizations, is CLP 214 million, the amount represents a real reduction of 4.7% compared to 2024signaling a slowdown in tax collection in the segment, which includes both direct taxes and those collected through various fees.

Federal Collection

Of the total CLP 194.2 billion:

Specific gambling tax collected CLP 84.363 million, an amount that is divided equally between regional governments and municipalities to finance public works and services.

Value added tax (VAT) on gaming operations amounted to CLP 81,401 million, calculated based on the sector’s gross revenues.

Entrance tax to gaming rooms reached CLP 28,450 million, allocated to the nation’s general funds.

Drop in revenue and visits

The SCJ report also records that the 22 casinos regulated by the country accumulated gross gaming revenues of CLP 509,826 million in 2025, which represents a real decrease of 4.5% compared to 2024.

Furthermore, attendance in the sector fell during the period: casinos recorded 926,873 visits throughout 2025, a decline of 7.2% in real terms, according to the SCJ. Despite this, the average expenditure per visitor increased by 3.3%, standing at CLP 86,019, which suggests that, although fewer visitors visited gambling establishments, those who did spent more per visit.
