Lottopar reinforces warning about risks of illegal gambling

THE Lottopar reinforced its warning about the risks of illegal gambling after the seizure of irregular machines in Londrina by the Military Police of Paraná last Sunday (8), in an establishment located on Rua Guaporé, in the central region of the city of Paraná.

The operation was launched at around 5:35 pm, after the police team received information about the possible existence of unauthorized betting equipment on site.

According to the PM, two machines visible to the public were found at the entrance of the establishment, with stickers that referred to the Paraná State Lottery (Lottopar). During the approach, one of those responsible reported that there was other equipment stored in the warehouse and led the police to the location, where two more machines were located that were turned off.

In total, four pieces of equipment were seized and sent to the Military Police registry office. Those responsible for commerce were notified, had a Detailed Criminal Infraction Term (TCIP) drawn up and received guidance on the applicable legal measures.

Lottopar highlighted that only expressly authorized games and bets can be operated in Paraná. Any other modality, whether physical or online, is considered illegal and subject to seizure of equipment, criminal liability and other sanctions provided for by law.

In addition to the legal risks, the municipality also drew attention to the negative impact on the reputation of establishments that allow irregular practices. According to Lottopar, the association of a business with illicit activities compromises credibility with customers, suppliers and commercial partners, damaging the trust built over time.

Similar cases have been recorded in other regions of the state. At the end of January, an operation by the 2nd Company of the 25th Military Police Battalion, in Iporã, also resulted in the seizure of illegal gaming machines. At the time, the responsible trader had already signed a term of commitment with the Public Prosecutor’s Office pledging not to maintain equipment of this type in his establishment.

How to report?

Lottopar and the Military Police of Paraná reinforce that the population can collaborate in the fight against illegal gambling through anonymous reports. Information can be passed on by calling 181 or via the website www.denuncia181.pr.gov.br.
