Lottopar and Sesp form a partnership to reinforce the Scientific Police

The Paraná State Lottery (Lottopar) signed, on February 11, a Decentralized Execution Agreement (TED) with the Public Security Secretariat of Paraná (Sesp) to invest R$4.9 million in the modernization of the laboratories of the Scientific Police of Paraná. The resource will be used to purchase new equipment that will decentralize and speed up the toxicological and chemical analyzes carried out in the State.

The investment will enable the acquisition of three liquid chromatographs, which will be installed in Scientific Police units in the Interior, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) equipment to reinforce the capital’s laboratory structure. The initiative is part of the Forensic Laboratory Network Modernization and Integration Program (Redelab), linked to the Intelligent Traffic System (Sistrânsito).

According to Lottopar’s CEO, Daniel Romanowski, the contribution reinforces the social role of the municipality and its commitment to strengthening public institutions. “The partnership with Sesp demonstrates how the joint action of state institutions strengthens public security. We are ensuring that alcohol and narcotics identification tests can also be carried out in the interior, expanding the reach of the service provided to the population”, he highlighted.

The resources come from a fund managed by Lottopar, which allocates part of its revenue to areas such as public security, housing and social actions. The initiative marks yet another investment by the municipality in projects aimed at improving public services in Paraná.

According to the Secretary of Public Security, Hudson Leôncio Teixeira, collaboration between agencies expands service capacity and improves the quality of expert analysis. “This cooperation between Sesp and Lottopar strengthens the Scientific Police and allows us to decentralize analyzes that are currently only carried out in Curitiba. With this, we increase the efficiency of forensic examinations and contribute to greater traffic safety in all regions of the State”, he stated.

According to the director of the Scientific Police of Paraná, Ciro José Cardoso Pimenta, the technology present in the equipment expands the technical capacity of the laboratories. “With the new devices it will be possible to detect a greater number of substances, carry out quantification with greater accuracy and deliver even more precise results for criminal investigations”, he explained.
