Lotep receives a delegation from Loto Potiguar to exchange experiences

The Paraíba State Lottery (Lotep) received, on the 10th and 11th of February, a delegation from the Rio Grande do Norte State Lottery (Lotto Potiguar) for a technical meeting aimed at exchanging experiences in the management, supervision and operation of lottery systems. The visit, promoted in João Pessoa, is part of a cooperation process between the two institutions that began last year.

During the two days of activities, teams from state lotteries discussed monitoring and transparency strategies, as well as good practices aimed at providing legal security for bettors and strengthening the Responsible Gaming program. Topics such as improving management software and the use of monitoring technologies applied to the sector were also discussed.

The delegation from Rio Grande do Norte was made up of civil servants José Rinaldo Fiuza Lima, sub-coordinator of Monitoring and Inspection, and Geraldo Marcelo Cabral de Souza, fiscal auditor of the State Treasury, both from the State Secretariat of Finance of Rio Grande do Norte (SEFAZ-RN). They were received by the Lotep team, who presented their operational practices and the functioning of the control systems adopted by the municipality.

For the superintendent of Lotep, Petrônio Rolim, the reception of the team from Rio Grande do Norte consolidates the importance of integration between state lotteries in the Northeast. During the two days of immersion, topics such as transparency in the draws, legal security for bettors and the strengthening of Responsible Gaming were discussed, an issue in which Paraíba has stood out nationally.

For auditor Geraldo Marcelo, the visit allowed him to deepen his knowledge of Lotep’s management model. He stated that Loto Potiguar has sought to mirror the practices adopted in Paraíba, especially in the bidding process and in the processing of operational and financial data.

“We see Lotep as a fundamental pillar for our legislation. We are currently maturing the implementation of our layer management software and are mirrored in the bidding model used here. But, in addition, we are looking for a solution that takes advantage of Lotep’s vast experience in information management”, he commented.

“We came to absorb this knowledge about how to receive data from operators and payment methods, observing how Lotep processes all of this to generate strategic management data, regardless of the dependence on software”, added Geraldo Marcelo.
