The group Sports Gaming Brazilowner of the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, participates in the discussion panels at the SBC Summit Rio 2026, one of the main meetings of the betting and technology industry in Latin America. The event takes place from March 3rd to 5th, at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro, and brings together operators, regulators, suppliers and investors to discuss the direction of regulatory consolidation in the country.
The group’s Institutional Relations director, Hugo Baungartner, is part of the panel “Who Plays, Pays: The Tax Game”, which addresses the impacts of fiscal dynamics on competition and the developments of the Brazilian model, including taxation on GGR and regulatory predictability. For the executive, the moment requires institutional maturity and stability.
“As the market matures, regulatory predictability and economic stability become as relevant as the authorization to operate. Debating taxation with transparency is part of the path to consolidating a competitive environment and strengthening migration to the regulated market”, he states.

On the agenda focused on operational integrity, the head of Compliance, Carolina Luna, participates in the panel “Controls for the Next Level of Player Involvement”. The debate discusses the evolution of control mechanisms, focusing on supplier governance, efficient structuring of KYC/AML, dispute management, traceability and preparation of evidence for audits, in addition to support for new engagement models, such as predictive markets.
“In the regulated environment, compliance is no longer a final step and becomes part of the operation’s infrastructure. When we talk about payments, traceability and KYC/AML, the focus is on transforming requirements into routine: consistent controls, governance and evidence that supports player protection”, says Carolina.
Although on different fronts, the two panels converge on a central point: transforming regulation into everyday practice. Whether in the design of sustainable economic incentives or in the implementation of controls that guarantee traceability and legal security, the sector’s challenge is to consolidate a competitive environment based on clear rules, effective supervision and consumer trust — an agenda that Esportes Gaming Brasil defends as a pillar for the institutional evolution of the industry in Brazil.
