The Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot) expressed this Wednesday (11) support for the initiative of Caixa Econômica Federal to move forward with the creation of Bet da Caixahighlighting that the measure could represent an important step towards the modernization of the lottery sector in Brazil.
In an article published by the entity, the federation states that Caixa’s entry into the sports betting market, combined with the digitalization of services, can expand opportunities for lottery entrepreneurs and strengthen the strategic role of the lottery network in the country.
According to Febralot, the advancement of online betting and changes in the market require adaptation of the traditional lottery operating model. In this context, the creation of a betting platform linked to Caixa is seen as an opportunity for innovation, capable of integrating the digital environment with the capillarity of the physical network present throughout the national territory.
The entity emphasizes that lotteries play an important role in providing services to the population, including payments, financial operations and registration of official bets. With a presence in thousands of municipalities, the units often function as an important access point to banking and lottery services for the population.
For the federation, Bet da Caixa can contribute to strengthening this model by combining technology, innovation and the already consolidated structure of lotteries. The expectation is that the modernization of the sector will occur in an integrated manner, preserving the importance of the physical network while expanding the presence of lotteries in the digital environment.
Febralot also defends that the evolution of the sector is accompanied by institutional dialogue and clear rules, ensuring legal security, sustainability for lottery entrepreneurs and benefits for consumers.
