The Paraíba State Lottery (Lotep) and the School of Public Service of the State of Paraíba (Espep) began planning training aimed at state public servants with a focus on management practices. Responsible Gaming.
According to Lotep, the proposal aims to expand the preventive action of public authorities in the face of the growth of the betting sector and its possible social impacts.
The initiative began to be structured during a meeting held at Espep’s headquarters, with the participation of members of the Responsible Gaming Commission from Lotep and the school’s pedagogical team. Among the participants were representatives of the two institutions, who discussed the development of training content aimed at guiding and applying the principles of Responsible Gaming within the scope of public administration.
The training should address topics such as prevention of gambling disorder, consumer protection and promotion of mental health. The proposal is that civil servants can act as information multipliers in different areas of the public service, contributing to expanding the reach of awareness and prevention actions in the state.
“The growth of betting requires increasingly preventive action from public authorities. Training public servants means preparing the State to guide, welcome and protect citizens from the risks of gambling”, highlights Graziele Batista, member of Lotep’s Responsible Gambling Commission.
According to the institutions, the training is still in the planning phase, and the first guidelines for the pedagogical project should be presented in the next few days. The expectation is that the content will include everything from regulatory aspects to reception mechanisms and guidance for citizens who may face risks related to gambling.
The initiative may also count on academic support from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), with the aim of guaranteeing a technical and scientific basis for the training. The partnership integrates institutional actions aimed at promoting safer and more responsible practices in the betting environment in Paraíba.
