THE Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB) released this Tuesday (24) the balance of federal revenue collection for February 2026. The federal government collected R$ 2.53 billion from taxation of the sports betting and online gaming sector in January and February of this year.
The information was presented at a press conference held at the Ministry of Finance, in Brasília.
The growth in federal revenue compared to January and February of last year was 235.7%, rising from R$756 million to R$2.53 billion. The increase compared to the same period in 2025 is due to the start of the regulated betting market in Brazil, on January 1, 2025.

The data was detailed by the head of the Center for Tax and Customs Studies, Claudemir Malaquias, and by the coordinator of Forecasting and Analysis of the Federal Revenue, Marcelo Gomide, during transmission on the official channel of the Ministry of Finance.
The January collection does not yet reflect the increase in the tax rate on the sector, approved at the end of 2025, due to the nineteen period provided for by law. According to the approved text, the rate will increase from 12% to 13% in 2026, rise to 14% in 2027 and reach 15% in 2028.
The expectation of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Secretary, Robinson Barreirinhas, is that government revenue will increase by around R$260 million in 2026, with the increase of one percentage point in the GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue) rate. THE statement was given by Barreirinhas this Tuesday (24).
