The movement gained strength after the American company expanded its presence in the country with campaigns aimed at the Brazilian public. In advertising pieces, the platform compares its potential returns to those of sports betting and uses critical messages to attract users, which has increased concern among competitors in the sector.

The topic, however, is not restricted to the betting market. The debate also involves agents in the financial system, as predictive markets allow the negotiation of contracts linked to future events. For the betting sector, it is essentially gambling, an interpretation that, if adopted by the government, could significantly expand the scope of regulation over this type of activity in Brazil.
