The Ministry of Finance informed that students who join the Unroll Fies will also be banned from betting on betting platforms for one year. The information was confirmed this Wednesday (13) by the Executive Secretary of Finance, Rogério Ceron.
The measure will be included in the Desenrola 2.0 Provisional Measure and, according to the government, seeks to prevent program beneficiaries from using resources in online betting during the student debt renegotiation period.
According to Ceron, the original text of the MP did not make it clear that the restriction would also be applied to Desenrola Fies.
“One last point that will be included in the MP is a small adjustment to the Desenrola Fies MP, making it clear that the restriction on those who benefit from the betting program will also apply to Desenrola Fies”, he stated.

Desenrola Fies went into operation this Wednesday and allows the renegotiation of debts from the Student Financing Fund for students with contracts signed until 2017 and who were in the payment phase in May 2026.
According to the Ministry of Finance, more than 3 thousand renegotiations had already been carried out in the first hours of the program’s operation, in addition to more than 15 thousand simulations.
The program provides discounts that can reach up to 99% of the debt value, depending on the student’s situation and the length of time in default.
The restriction on betting follows the same logic applied to Novo Desenrola Brasil, launched by the federal government to renegotiate family debts. In recent weeks, the Executive published rules prohibiting program beneficiaries from using sports betting platforms regulated.
